About Roots & Recipes

A handwritten recipe is more than a list of ingredients. It’s the way someone wrote your name, the extra note in the margin, and the dish that brought everyone back to the table.

Roots & Recipes turns those family cards into heirloom cookbooks, framed prints, engraved cutting boards, and kitchen keepsakes. We clean up worn scans while keeping the handwriting and character that make each recipe personal.

Keep the connection

Our hardcover cookbook brings together 20 to 40 recipes. Smaller books, single-card gifts, and digital archives offer other ways to preserve a favorite dish or share it with siblings. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, planning a holiday gift, or remembering someone you miss, the story stays yours.

A gentle process

Start with phone photos so your originals can stay safe at home. If you prefer to send cards, we offer a prepaid, trackable sleeve; originals are scanned and returned. We handle restoration and layout, then production partners make and ship your keepsake. Our target turnaround is 10 business days, with holiday timing subject to availability.

Your memories, your choice

Restoration reveals can help other families see what’s possible. We only feature your card and story with your permission. You never need to share a personal memory publicly to preserve it.
